Just so you know - Next week Thurs. is the
day everyone is Irish - not just the Mc...Gills!!
St. Patrick is one of the world*s most popular saints,
although St. Nicholas and St. Valentine also share
this love. Patrick was born in Scotland, but at the
age of 14 he was captured during a raid & taken to
Ireland as a slave to herd & tend sheep. During his
captivity he turned to God in prayer & escaped Ireland
when he was 20. He studied for the priesthood & as a
bishop he was sent to take the Gospel to Ireland. He
preached & converted most of Ireland for 40 years.
He died when he was 74. Patrick used the SHAMROCK
to explain the Trinity and this has been associated with
him and the Irish since that time.

A former Sergeant with the Marines took a new
job as a school teacher. Just before school began
he injured his back requiring him to wear a plaster
cast on the upper part of his body. The cast fit
under his shirt and was not noticeable. The 1st
day he found himself assigned to the toughest
students in school. The smart aleck punks heard
he was a Marine, were leery of him, but decided
to see how tough he really was, before trying
any pranks. The new teacher opened the window
as he walked in the room and sat at his desk. A
strong breeze made his tie flip, so he picked up
a stapler and promptly stapled the tie to his chest.
DEAD SILENCE. He had no trouble with
discipline that year.

Corner down town. No food offered at the
auction that day. Merchants offer specials
and there is a hamburger fry near the Stop
Light site.

When I was walking with my grandson, he picked
up something and put it in his mouth. I told him it
was dirty and had germs. He asked how I knew
all this stuff. I said I had to know to be a Grandma,
it is in the Grandma test. He said, so if you dont
pass the test, you are a Grandpa. I said, Exactly.
