Grass and Alfalfa are higher this week, likely from lower supply and a stronger buying crowd. Cornstalks were steady while straw seemed to drop slightly. The heavy rains have made it harder to get hay in and out these past few weeks so we hope to see an increase in supply in the coming weeks. The Millionaire Farmer
A local news reporter is doing a human-interest story on rural families. She drives out to a remote farm to interview an old farmer who has worked the land for 50 years.
During the interview, the reporter asks, "Sir, you’ve dedicated your entire life to this farm. If you suddenly won one million dollars in the lottery tomorrow, what would you do with the money?"
The farmer sits back in his rocking chair, chews on a piece of straw for a moment, and reflects.
"Well," the farmer says slowly, " I guess I’d just keep farming until it was all gone!."
